How a Medicare Supplement works
What it is
Medigap is insurance from a private company that helps pay your share of costs in Original Medicare. Medicare pays first, then your Medigap plan pays its part. You need Part A and Part B to buy one.
Lettered plans
Plans are standardized by letter: A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M and N. Plans with the same letter carry the same benefits from any company, so what you compare is the price and the company. Plans C and F are not sold to people new to Medicare on or after January 1, 2020.
Your 6-month window
Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period lasts 6 months, starting the first month you have Part B and are 65 or older. During it, a company cannot turn you down or charge more because of your health. It happens once, so we plan the timing with you.
What to pair it with
Medigap plans sold today do not include drug coverage, so most people add a Part D drug plan. Dental and vision are separate as well, and we help with those plans too.

Medicare Supplement in Teton County
How Teton County gets its Medicare
About 95% of eligible Teton County beneficiaries were on Original Medicare rather than a Medicare Advantage plan in March 2026. Original Medicare is the path a Medicare Supplement is built to work with.
Any provider that takes Medicare
With Original Medicare and a Medigap plan, you can use any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that takes Medicare, at home in Jackson or anywhere you travel. Several plans also pay 80% of emergency care abroad, up to plan limits.
A plan that stays with you
A Medigap policy cannot be cancelled as long as you pay the premium. In general you can keep it if you move, as long as you stay on Original Medicare.
