Benefits built around the season

One in three Teton County jobs is in lodging or food service

Accommodation and food service employs about 7,923 people in Teton County — 33.1% of every job in the county — across 181 establishments. Lodging alone accounts for roughly 5,452 of those jobs. Grand Teton Lodge Company runs about 1,100 staff at summer peak.

An industry this size carries its own pattern of hours, tenure and turnover, and a plan designed for a year-round office does not fit it. We design for the roster you actually run.

An 83% summer swing changes the whole design

Accommodation and food service employment peaked at 10,176 in August and fell to 5,573 in November — an 83% swing. Leisure and hospitality turnover in Wyoming runs about 53% per quarter, the highest of any industry. Teton County's overall quarterly turnover, 44.2%, is the highest of any Wyoming county.

Seasonal and variable-hour staff bring measurement periods and the 9.96% affordability test into play for 2026. Get the eligibility rules right and the plan works. Get them wrong and it costs more than it should. That is the first thing we build.

Common questions

What hospitality & tourism employers ask.

Yes. Lodging, restaurants, resorts, outfitters and guide services are the largest employer group in Teton County, and they are inside our normal service area. We run reviews and renewals by phone and video, and we meet in person when a group wants that.

Yes, and the design decides whether it works. Seasonal employees under the ACA are those whose customary employment is six months or less, and variable-hour staff can be measured over a look-back period of three to twelve months. We set those rules around your actual season rather than a default.

For 2026 the IRS affordability threshold is 9.96% of an employee's household income, measured through a safe harbor. It applies to applicable large employers and it decides whether your lowest-cost plan counts. We run the numbers against your actual pay bands before any quote goes out.

They are one of the few levers you control. Teton County's 2024 median single-family sale was about $3.1 million, and roughly 40% of the workforce commutes in. A plan an employee would lose by leaving is a retention tool, and we design it to be one.

Depending on the plan, we may be paid by the insurance carrier, by a client-paid fee, or by a mix of both. How we are paid is disclosed in writing up front, and if there is a fee paid by you we explain it before you move forward. Recommendations are based on fit.
